Dan was very helpful in determining what maintenance needed to be done on my Forester. At 90K miles it needed some work. Very happy with the service work that was done. Will definitely be using this place for any future maintenance on my Subaru.

Feels like a dealership now. High prices, upselling. Had to return to redo a new brake that was HOT. Replaced items not requested. Was my go-to repair shop for many years. What happened?

I was in Portland for work, 300 miles from home. 8 days into the trip, the car (2005 Subaru outback) lost power as I was driving away from a red light. Had the car towed to Mountain Tech Inc and they diagnosed the issue as a blown transmission. The shop was very upfront about there issue, with clear prices. These guys are no nonsense people. Unfortunately, for me, the car wasn't worth fixing. But now, I am in a rental and I am not sure what to do with the car, how to get rid of it, because it is sitting there in their parking lot. I mentioned the situation to the owner, DAN KUEHIN, who offered to take care of the car. What a relief!!!! Dan saved me from a lot of headaches and I for one, will never forget his kindness. They are honest, and extremely knowledgeable, everything you want in a shop.VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

They mis-measured brake pads

My car was in and out of the shop in about 3 hours. Fast, reliable, great work. Heater/ defrost/AC wasn’t working, and they fixed it for me. I will be returning for work here done on my Subaru.

I read a lot of good reviews about this place. Instead I paid more than quoted to have them tell me exactly what I told them....it was the end of the day. When I took my car to the dreaded subaru dealer, I was pointed down a promising path. The subaru dealer had my car twice as long, charged me nothing because they didn't have a solid answer, and spoke to me with way more respect. I dont like writing negative reviews, however Mt Tech is doing bad business

Mountain tech really saved me when I was driving from the OR coast to Boise ID. My car broke down a mile from their shop and needed a tow in. We made it there at about 11:00am, they had my car diagnosed by 12:30, and I was back on the road at 4:00! Everyone was very professional and kind. Highly recommend them and I will be using them for maintenance from here on out, great people!

I trust Mountain Tech with my Outback! They do an all point inspection every time I take my car in for service. They are transparent about all problems and costs and prioritize services for me. The staff are friendly, and kind and often my car is ready for pickup before the estimated finishing time. They use quality materials and check in with me at a later date to be sure that I’m satisfied with the repairs they made. This is a company with good service, and integrity.

great service! i have been going to mountain tech for the last two years and my car drives as good as new. my crosstrek is at 70k miles and we worked through cvt transmission fluid, diff fluid, spark plugs, tire change, brake rotator pads, bushings. all said and done spent 7k approx in over two years, and the car now drives so smooth. very satisfied with the people who run it and the service provided.

I own a 2008 Subaru Outback and a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, both of which needed extended work done over the past few years. The Mountain Tech staff have always been the most understanding and willing mechanics I’ve ever worked with. Their work is great and they even allowed me to bring in my own fluids and parts after I realized the job was going to be too far out of my skill set (luckily I bought the right stuff lol). Prices have also been VERY reasonable, obviously not bargain level but their workmanship speaks for itself. My Subarus will only ever go to Mountain Tech! Thank you Dan, Patience, and John!

Easy online scheduling and text communication with the shop. Easy to view report and ability to approve and pay for work online is a huge time savings. Quick replies to any questions as well. Easy to recommend them for any Subaru service needs.

Most honest and capable mechanics I’ve ever dealt with.

I have been taking my 2001 Subaru Forester to Mountain Tech for its whole life! It’s at 290k and still going strong. Mountain Tech is one of those rare places that you can count on them to deal with you honestly and carefully. They are truly the best mechanics I have ever encountered!

Mountain Tech has done FANTASTIC work on both my Honda and Subaru. I happily make the drive out of North Portland for them to service my vehicles

I would give no stars if I could. Took months "working" on my car and then when I couldn't afford the 7k they wanted to fix my car they.pressured me multiple times to take out a loan to fix it. Horrible communication...I had to call them every time I wanted an update on my car as it again was there for months. I took it to another shop for a second opinion and what they said was wrong with my car was incorrect and the second shop I took it to said that the price they charge for what was supposedly wrong was half of what this shop was quoting me. Save your time and money and take your car somewhere else. These people are con artists.
